Love Instead of Ransom

The victim’s pain is the kidnapper’s joy (famous German proverb; editor’s note: slightly modified) – This, or something similar, must have been Leon’s train of thought when he decided to lock his classmate Nikolas in a dark dungeon for an extended period. His ransom demand: the love of Nikolas’ parents. With a gun in his luggage and supported by his strongly Oedipal classmate Antonia, Leon pursues his dream of parental affection. Whether this seemingly well-thought-out plan will work out and whether Martina Gedeck as a cunning policewoman will bring it all crashing down remains to be seen. We already love the bastard and are locking ourselves in the dark cellar for a brainstorming session right away.
